Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn
University
Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University
was established by the wish of H.M. King Anandamahidol as he conferred
degree and diplomas to medical graduates and nurses at Siriraj Hospital
on 13rd April 1946. There was a Royal proclamation establishing Medical
Faculty at Chulalongkorn Hospital on 22nd April 1947. The faculty
of medicine began to operate on 4th June 1947. The medical school
was officially opened on 11st June 1947. Subsequently it was transferred
to Chulalongkorn University on 1st October 1967. The main aim of the
Faculty is to produce graduates in medical science who are full of
moral, intellectual qualities and abilities for the strength of the
nation in the future, in accordance with the University's quest.
Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital,Mahidol
University
Siriraj Hospital and its medical school constituted
the oldest medical institute in Thailand. They are founded in 1888
and 1890 respectively by the Royal Command and Patronage of H.M. the
most esteemed King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), whose wisdom and effort
led this country into a transition towards western civilization. Medical
school was established for the first time in the country due to the
urgent need to recruit resident physicians for the newly built hospital
and the fact that practitioners of indigenous medicine were not inclined
to work in cooperation with others. At present, Siriraj Hospital has
a lot of paramedical and vocational programs. With the expansion of
medical services throughout the country, there are increasing needs
for paramedical personnel as well as physicians themselves.
Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai
University
The Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University
was established by the Royal Decree in 1959 and originally was a part
of the University of the Medical Science in Bangkok, now called Mahidol
University. On 31st December 1960, the faculties and students were
transferred to Chiang Mai. The established of the Chiang Mai University
followed later on and the Faculty of Medicine was incorporated into
the University in 1965.
Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi
Hospital,Mahidol University
Ramathibodi Hospital was established in August
1964 and was named by the present King, King Bhumibol. The Faculty
of Medicine was set ip in 1965 as a part of Mahidol University. The
Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital has always placed much emphasis
on the quality of service, educational, and research.

of Medicine, Khon Kaen University
The Faculty of Medicine of Khon Kaen University
was established in 1972 as part of the Kingdom of Thailand's policy
to expand higher education to the rural areas and to bring the resources
of the University to help address the development need of rural people.
The objectives of the Faculty of Medicine are : First, to produce
medical doctors and other related science personnel to work in rural
health institutions after graduation, second, to be a high-tachnology
referral center for medical services in North Eastern Thailand and
third, to conduct research studies which provide information and appropriate
technology suitable for different levels of health sare fot the benefit
of the population as a whole.
Faculty
of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University
The idea to establish this Faculty was a part
of the 3rd National Economic and Social Development Plan (1972-1979)
and was incorporated at the time that the Hat Yai campus was built.
The aims were to have a new medical school in the periphery of the
country and to have another academic institution to halp solve health
problems among the southern regions. The resolution to establish the
Faculty, the fourth for the Hat Yai campus, was accepted on 15th December
1972.
Pramongkutklao
College of Medicine
Pramongkutklao College of Medicine was founded in 1975 as a unit of
Army Medical Department. The college is the sole uniformed service
medical college in Thailand. The college is under the direction of
Pramongkutklao Medicine Center, Army Medical Department and is affiliated
with the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
All medical graduates from the college are proportionately posted
for the medical services in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Faculty of Medicine, Srinakharinwirot
University
Faculty of Medicine, Srinakharinwirot University
was established on 16th June 1985. It has given 600 students the opportunity
of a fine medical education with unique varied experience. The origional
objective of the establishment is to produce physicians to meet the
demand for doctors throughout the country, especially outside of bangkok
in the more rural areas and certainly the Faculty of Medicine at Srinakharinwirot
University has kept that objective. Approximately 50% of seats each
year are available for students from outside of Bangkok.
Faculty
of Medicine, Rangsit University
In 1988, Rangsit University and the Department
of Medical Service, Ministry of Public Health, signed a cooperative
agreement for undergraduate medical training to provide another avenue
for Thai students. The purpose is to provide M.D. graduates to alleviate
the acute shortage of doctors in Thailand. Rangsit University is responsible
for the basic science and preclinical training of its students in
the first three years, clinical teaching take place at Rajavithi and
Children's Hospital.

of Medicine, Thammasat University
The idea to establish the faculty had been since
1985. At that time, Professor Nangyao Chaiseri, who was the rector
of Thammasat University, planned to establish it as a self-nourishing
project. However, in 1988 when Professor Klerkkiat Pipatseritham bacame
a rector, he adjusted the project to be a Faculty of University which
was supported by the goverment. In August 1988, the University Council
approved the project of establishing the Faculty of Medicine. The
Reyal decree for establishing the Faculty was announced on 19th march
1990.
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration
College and Vajira Hospital
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration College and
Vajira Hospital, formerly known as Bangkok Metropolitan Medical College,
was founded on 27th January 1993 with the Thai Goverment permission
and support. On 20th July 1998, Bangkok Metropolitan Medical College
joined with Vajira Hospital and then become Bangkok Metropolitan Administration
College and Vajira Hospital. Bangkok Metropolitan Administration College
and Vajira Hospital is an affiliated institute of mahidol University
which is well known for its quality medical education.
Faculty of Medicine, Naresuan
University
Naresuan University was served as a medical school
in 1995. In the part of clinical course, 4th - 6th year, learning
and traning takes place at the Buddhachinaraj Hospital. In the 6th
year of training course, students will go to practice in 9 provincial
General Hospital which include Phichit, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak,
Phetchaboon, Kamphaengphet, Nakhosawan, Utthaithanee and Phisanulok
province
