Criteria for Evaluation of Projects
These judging guidelines define the criteria
that the judges will be using to evaluate all aspects of the research
projects and presentations.
• Clarity of work and Interpretation:
Is the project understandable? Are the key points, problems, and solutions
stated clearly and precisely? Does the student use the research methodology
appropiately? Has the student stated the interpretations and conclusions
clearly? Do the conclusions and interpretations follow from the results
presented?
• Creativity and Comprehensiveness:
Is the project original and imaginative? What is the origin of the
student's interest in the topic? To what extent were the student's
talent and insight incorporated into the project? Does the Research
Report fully explain the project itself or is further explanation
needed?
• Field Knowledge and Validity:
Does the Research Report demonstrate knowledge of ‘Oriental Medicine’
and the underlying scientific issues associated with the study, including
such factors as competing theories and evidence? How scientifically
reasonable and credible are the data, interpretations, and conclusions?
• Application of the Researh and Future
Work: What are possible applications of
the work? Is there a discussion of future or follow-up research? If
so, what further data would be needed?
• Presentation:
Is the material presented logically, coherently and within the time
limit? Does the student use tables and graphs appropriately? Can the
student handle questions from the jury and the general audience appropriately?
Climate
Thailand enjoys a tropical climate with three
distinct seasons-hot and dry from February to May (average temperature
34 degrees Celsius and 75% humidity); rainy with plenty of sunshine
from June to October (average day temperature 29 degrees Celsius and
87% humidity); and cool from November to January (temperatures range
from 32 degrees Celsius to below 20 degrees Celsius with a drop in
humidity).
Much lower temperatures are experienced in the North and Northeast
during nighttime. The South has a tropical rainforest climate with
temperatures averaging 28 degrees Celsius almost all year round.
